Food contact products made of bamboo fibre plastic cannot be sold in the European Union, because some of these products were found to leach melamine or formaldehyde at levels above the specific migration limits set by the legislation. The National Food Chain Safety Office of Hungary (NÉBIH) provides a grace period for distributors to withdraw such products from the market until the end of the first quarter.
Despite the fact our products are safe and have the necessary test reports and manufacturer's declaration for melamine, formaldehyde or polyamide content, we have removed these items from our portfolio.
